Barack Hussein Obama

I have been told this is how the ballot was printed in Crown Heights at ps 161. There were now middle names where I voted. Anyone else see his middle name on the ballot?

And so what if it was?

Correction, there were NO (not now) middle names on the ballot where I voted.

Chosen,

My question is why there? Should there be a standard? Are you familiar with the population of the area?

Chosen,

I know the answer to my own question after reviewing your posts. I'm sure the point will be moot by tomorrow.

My point was that it should not matter what one's name is or even what religion especially in a country supposedly found on religious freedom. Colin Powell addressed the issue on Meet the Press a couple of weeks ago even though Obama and McCain never did. It is okay to deny being this religion or that but to do it as though any particular religion is better than any other is wrong. I have Muslim and Arab friends who have decided to sit this one out. They could have been the votes needed in the swing states to put either candidate over. Michigan, Ohio, Florida and Virginia have some of the largest Muslim and Arab populations in the country outside of New York, New Jersey and California.

Hope they're hanging with the What...

Given your prior comments and your "chosen" B'stoner name, I sure your point was different than you claim. The middle name only seems to matter to those in Crown Heights (so far), that was my point. Why was that choice made, and by who? Also, religious freedom should be equal, so why do some feel they are "chosen"?

There is a distinct difference between "I have been told" and the objective truth. Before you try to disperse inuendo and stereotypical rumor, why not search for the facts. No "pig three", this is not the "change" all had hoped for.

sjtmd,

Objective truth? The change I wanted see came about last night. According to a recent NY Times article "For Many Abroad, an Ideal Renewed" "Poll after poll in country after country showed only a few - Israel, Georgia, the Philippines - favoring a victory for Senator John McCain." Being told by someone who voted in Crown Heights about the printing on the ballot does not make it a rumor. I doubt it was put on the ballot to attract votes to President Obama. I think it is the kind of thing special interest groups have been doing for a long time in elections and exactly the kind of thing that needs to be changed. This country took a giant leap toward that change last night.

Why did you assume that Chosen was Jewish? I didn't get that from any of their previous posts. I get the sense that they are athiest or agnostic. Especially because of their post on the Sarah Palin exorcism mocking the three major faiths.

rumor: a statement or report current without known authority for its truth. (Merriam - Webster Dictionary)."Being told by someone who voted in Crown Heights about the printing on the ballot does not make it a rumor." When you have seen the ballot and can validate this as fact, then the inuendo and fear mongering can AT LEAST have some crediblity. Until then, nope..... Change? I doubt it.

Chaka,

That is your interpretation. The list of religious seperatists who feel they are "chosen" is not exclusive to one type of religion.

Sjtmd,

Bringing awareness to special interest tactics will only aid in the change I was voting for. I would like to see your definition of how I am "fear mongering". I only have proof of the ballot where I voted. Perhaps someone photographed the Crown Heights ballot. Time will tell, hopefully.

Thankfully

FYI, I voted in Crown Heights, and our delightful new President's middle name was not on the ballot.
