Turn on the Heat (Lamp)

I have been scouring the internet for days looking for a heat lamp and fan combo and can't seem to find one anywhere. Just loking for something simply for a small bathroom. Any idea where i might find one? I have already checked out Brooklyn lowes and home depot. Thanks.

I had been looking into these myself, but cannot recommend either from experience. You can purchase the Reiker by special order at Lowe's and, I think, also via Home Depot. HD also carries it's own version. Here are two links:

Google product search for "heat lamp fan" turns up plenty. The Google-Fu is weak in this one.

Sorry, I misread bathroom for bedroom in your post. Obviously, Reiker-type fans are intended for attic, etc.

I bought a Broan heat lamp/exhaust fan combo at an electrical supply store a year or so ago. I was reluctant to have a conventional heater/fan [all I could find at Lowes] recessed into the bathroom ceiling of my 108 year old house. AFAIK Broan and Nutone units are the same, differing only in cosmetics.

Bob- I feel the same way and am having the same trouble what electrical supply store did you go to?

HomeSweetstuy,

I THINK we got it at LB Electrical Supply on New Utrecht Avenue. I'm not positive, because we went to a couple of stores until we found what we wanted in stock. Unfortunately, I can't find the receipt.

My brother installed an exhaust fan/heat fan combo... it's so much faster than a heat lamp. Nice an toasty by the time the water is hot... sort of amazing how warm it can make the bathroom.

Wish I knew anything about it. But I would suggest looking at electric heater/exhaust fans, and you don't have to worry about changing light bulbs.

I 2nd heat fan recommendation. Our favorite is Panasonic Whisper line that can combine Light/Heat/Fan/Night-light. They are often sold by on-line retailers or auctions at significant discount.

I'm sure that electric heaters heat much better than heat lamps, BUT I wouldn't feel safe recessing one into the ceiling of my 108 year old house. New (or even post WW II) construction would be another matter.
