Greenpoint riverfront property mystery

There's an odd property that stretches between the end of Greenpoint Ave. and Kent street along the east river. There's a prefab looking building, grass and trees. It seemed strange to have this large, green area fenced off in the middle of all these warehouses, and I imagined whatever it actually was, that maybe it was a secret CIA safehouse;)

Does anyone have any background on this place?

Lisa, unfortunately I don't have one. You can sort of see it if you type in 2 Kent St into google maps and look at the satellite and street views. I'll try to take one next time I'm back in the old neighborhood.

There is a NYC parks department sign on the fence.
