General Contractor Recommendation
Hi Brownstoners,
I recently undertook a 4 family Crown Heights renovation project with a contractor that I found here on the forum. We got off to a relatively good start but things took a turn for the worse and I had to let him go today (more on that later).
In an attempt to find a replacement, I've searched the archives and set up appointments with the following Brownstoner recommended contractors: Gaudioso Contracting, Jabez Home Improvement and Lino's Home Improvement.
Has anyone had any good experiences with contractors that I have not already considered?

We recently had a great experience with Transcend Construction. They did 2 baths and a kitchen in our home super fast, and the work was done very well. Would absolutely recommend you give them a shot.

You should check out John Palanca over at Design Tech Construction.(718) 369-5828.
He and his Partner have a show on the DIY Network
called Under Construction. a lot of the work featured is done on Brownstones and old homes in The Park Slope Area.
They just moved the show so you'll have to go to DIYnetwork.com to find the new day/time.
I've worked with them before and alway's found them 100%
honest and Dependable.

Try Pietro from AllRenovation, he just did a class on renovations at City Tech for do it yourself homeowners. I meet him at the "Anatomy of Brownstone" seminar - he was a speaker. He ended up working on my Brownstone in Windsor Terrace. Very good guy, good workers and excellent customer service. I've had bad experiences with several, and 100% positive with Nick from Transcend Construction. Totally reliable, good prices, quick, good work, etc.
