Bruce Ratner explored Nets sale!

New Jersey Nets principal owner Bruce Ratner met with a group of investors within the past year about possibly selling control of the basketball operations, the Daily News has learned.
One of the investors, who did not want to be identified, said that Ratner met with investors because the Nets were "hemorrhaging dollars." The deal would not have included the Atlantic Yards project, a $3.5 billion sports arena, residential and business complex in downtown Brooklyn.

Great for me, I love going over to the meadowlands with my son to catch a game. This means I won't have to drive to crime ridden brooklyn to watch the NETS. Great news.

I think bringing that stadium to Brooklyn would cause utter chaos...that area is already crazy during rush hour. Can you imagine people going to a game? You know not all will take the train.

Hmmm, well since The What posted approximately 15 times in my last Forum thread alone, I guess that means he loves me and my pond. I'm actually disappointed with that concept. I prefer the healthy tension.

I see it modelled on the Huffington Post but with that inimitable What sensibility and a distinctly Brooklyn theme. And a better layout/design - that thing is a bit tacky. I see something more masculine, edgier, but not in that Williamsburg kind of faux-ironic-edgy way.
Politics, Real Estate, Elections, Finance maybe a human interest story from time to time? (If you actually like any humans that is ; ) ).

I went to an event at the Prudential Center recently. It's an amazing facility accessible to public transportation (which is always a plus).
You can get a good deal on brick/brownstones in Newark. Problem is that any savings you make when purchasing the home would have to go towards your getting a security task force. Just look at this one.

cobblehiller, you've always been right about this: things would be worse if The What wasn't around. He's like our own little court jester. And having him here in the Forum is just perfect. We get him on our terms: when we feel like reading his rants and responding, we can come back here to do it when we want. And we can turn it into our own little social club whenever the urge to hijack the thread hits us.
