Windowrama/FTN Home Remodeling
I'm getting estimates on putting in replacement windows. I live in a landmarked district and it looks like all things considered we're going to be best off using Marvins. We've gotten two estimates so far - from Bay Ridge Windows (about which there is some info on the forums) and from FTN Home Remodeling in Staten Island, courtesy of Windowrama. Does anyone have any experience with FTN and/or Windowrama?
Comments
We bought new Anderson windows from Windowrama for our house in Montauk. They arrived as ordered, within a reasonable time period and were well priced relative to other places we priced.
However we didn't have them install the windows so I cannot comment on workmanship or cost of installation.
Will you follow up with a post on how much the window replacement is costing? We need to do the same soon.
Thanks!

We're doing Marvin aluminum clad exterior with a wood interior - it's either that or all wood for landmarking. We have a total of 19 that are being replaced; in addition to that, we have two all-vinyl windows being put in in the basement, we're taking off aluminum caps that are currently on top of the exterior, and painting the original wood exterior frames that are currently hidden underneath. All combined that'll be somewhere around 20K - the quotes are roughly the same. Since we're doing installation from the same people we're buying the windows from we don't have a separate price for the cost of the windows by themselves.
We'd still love any thoughts about FTN. Or Bay Ridge Windows, for that matter.
