Seeking recommendation on basement waterproofing contractor
We recently discovered that there are cracks on the foundation wall, as everytime it rains, there is water in the basement. The cracks we found are at the end of the building (facing backyard). We just bought the house a year ago and thought the property has sound foundation ... unfortunately, it does not.
We worry that the water will weaken the foundation of the house (the damage may have already been done) and are very anxious to fix the leak problem.
If you know of any professional and reasonably priced basement waterproofing contractor, please let us know. Also, we appreciate your sharing of experience working on this type of issue as a brownstone homeowner.

All buildings settle over time--some well, some not so well. Strongly recommend that you have a structural engineer assess the condition of your foundation and building before spending money on patches that may not properly identify or solve your problem.
