Shhhwing
well maybe. T and I went to visit a friend in Vermont this past weekend and discovered a fabulous, ornate radiator at Renew (its worth the trip --they have clawfoot tubs, doors, sinks, etc. too and ita a real Salvage place with Salvage like prices). It is gorgeous and I snagged it despite the fact that it is caked in rust at the connection. Because it was only 40 bucks-i decided to take the risk (i.e. expense) to have a show stopper in the parlor. So we hauled it back to Nyc and now I am trying to figure out who to call to get this thing restored. Any ideas??

The last time I had any work like this done (not on a radiator) was many years ago. I used a foundry in Greenpoint (for current selection, try googling "foundries, greenpoint"). Here's a link to an old NY Times article on foundries:

Search also for a follow-up letter on a Greenpoint foundry: A Notable Foundry Operates in Williamsburg.
If you have not seen it, "This Old House" had a segment on radiator restoration which you can probably find in the library or online. Below is info on two restorers who I have not used and cannot comment on from experience. They are not local:
