Crown Molding

does anybody have any good recommendations for someone to install crown molding in my apartment in the Clinton Hill Coops? I need a professional because of all the corners, jogs and the fact that the walls are hard as heck and my have to be put up using adhesive.

We used a contractor named Matt diFrancesco, his email is tenfingers@earthlink.net.

He and his guys did a great job on our trimwork. Matt's pretty thoughtful and has a good eye. They were careful, biscuit-joined and used adhesive in addition to nails, were thoughtful about transitions, communicated well with us.

And they took pleasure in it, which was an added bonus. They said a couple of times that nobody wants stuff like crown molding anymore, and that it was fun to do detail-oriented work.

I used Patrick Managan for all my carpentry through-out my home in Park Slope. He and his father Patty (also a carpenter) are very knowledgable about old brick and brownstone homes. He did an excellent job. I don't have his number at the time, but if your interested state so, and I will leave it on this sight.

I just checked my cell phone I believe it is 1 (201) 566-2794. I know that he was vacationing in Ireland and not sure if he returned yet.

You can't get an Irish construction guy in August. Unless you're in Donegal.

We used John Beers in our Federal row house in the West Village. He did crown mouldings in the hall, living room and bedroom, custom surrounds on the doors and windows and custom baseboards all picked by us from a sourcebook of profiles he provided of 100's of authentic period mouldings. I took a look at the job he did right after ours, a house on West 12th St. He cast and installed the crown mouldings for the whole house - looked spectacular. He also does woodwork - redid all of the interior shutters for us as well. Great job good prices. He's at 845-863-3394.
