3 Phase Electric
I am trying to upgrade my electrical service to 3 phase. i've left numerous messages with Con Ed, but they haven't returned my call. Does anyone know the ballpark cost of the change? I'm interested in the charges from Con Ed, my electrician can quote me the rest.

I don't know if it still holds true, or what your situation is, but years ago, Con Ed would not put 3 phase into residential.

I don't think you can get three phase in residential either. What do you need it for? You can purchase a phase generator. They pop up on craigs list all the time.

It's two phase with higher amperage that you want. Oh, and it's Con-Ed, so of course they haven't returned your call.

I think three-phase is only available to industrial customers, and at commercial rates.

I'm really curious: what are you doing that you might need 3-phase? How big is the house?

I need the 3 phase for 2 purposes. First is central AC. The system I want is more cost efficient in the 3 phase configuration. Second is an elevator. I own my place as a commercial enterprise, so Con Ed should not have an issue.
Does anyone know a cost?
