Zodiac counter tops
We’re re-doing our kitchen and are strongly thinking of using Zodiac counter-tops. Seem to be tough with good color options, and I like that it's not granite and doesn't require maintenance or re-sealing.
Any thoughts? Also, what are the general opinions with using it for the backsplash? I’m not sure if that would be hideous.
Any feedback, experiences or opinions are welcome.

We're using it for our countertops, but not for the backsplash (agree--hideous). My thoughts were the same as yours: it doesn't require sealing (like granite), and good color options. I liked the selection in Zodiaq much better than those in Silestone. But, that was merely an aesthetic choice, I'm pretty sure that both are constructed the same.
There's also Cambria (the only dealer near to us is the place on 5th and Garfield--I have heard many, many bad things so they weren't an option), and CaesarStone (many dealers in BK), I still liked the color options in Zodiaq best.

Might be a little too busy with that pattern on the counter as well as the backsplash (depending on how subtle or busy the pattern is). You may want to pick one color out of the top and do a glass tile backsplash. Also, look into Icestone as a countertop (made with glass pieces instead of quartz, brooklyn made, & more sustainable).

We installed Caeser Stone (same type of material as Zodiac) two years ago and have been very happy with it. No staining, scratching or chipping so far and it resists heat well. Counter only , not the backsplash.

We used Silestone for our kitchen countertops and love it. We looked at Zodiaq as well, but ultimately chose Silestone because we fell in love with the "leather" finish it's offered in, and Zodiaq did not have a similar finish (this was 2 years ago, can't speak for now). I would not use it for the backsplash, but I suppose it's a personal preference. We used glass subway tiles for our backsplash.

Our contractor installed ours as we'd had a scheduling issue at the last minute and didn't want to reschedule the delivery, but the granite place in NJ we purchased the countertop (Granite Concepts/HomeGranite) did the templating and cutting and delivered the finished counter.

Yes! I have 1 silestone and 1 ceasarstone counter and I love them. Easy to clean, no sealing, and after a while i got brave enough to cut veggies on them and they are fine. Still look and feel great. Make sure you choose and specify the type of edge you want, as you have many choices for the way it can be cut.
