Window and cornice repair and paint

We are going to repair and paint our windows and cornice black (they are now white) and I wondered if there are any specific paints to use (other than outdoor) or if anyone had any recommendations on best processes, etc...glossy not glossy etc...? I am in the process of getting bids and want to know a little more about this. Thanks

Buy the most expensive paint that you can afford. Fine paints of Europe makes an excellent exterior oil, which is available at Janovich. Yacht enamel available at west marine on 37th street is also an excellent paint.

After priming, gloss should be applied as a first topcoat followed by another topcoat in the sheen of your choice. All gloss finishes are harder than satin or flat finishes due to the dulling agents (usually fumed silica) which are soft by nature.

No tips really other than to say I love the look of a gloss finish. I find the look of satin exterior paint to look a little unfinished (sort of like primer). But thats just my personal opinion.
