The Threshold
Anyone have any suggestions as to where one can purchase a mable threshold for double doors in a Brownstone. We have searched futilely at Home Depot and Lowes and don't know where else to go. anyhone have a similiar problem? We will also need a handyman or carpenter of sorts to install the thing once we can actually purchase it.

Any place that does marbele tile & countertops will make one for you...any width, depth or thickness. Mine was done by Swan Tile. Just specify the edge you want.

Call Robert @ Stone Decor 718-788-8099
He embeds steel in epoxy under his thresholds, making them super strong and less like to crack over time. He can do it out of any stone.

Any decent tile store should have these.

Foro Marble in Brooklyn made mine. Any tile guy can install.

You want marble that is thicker than the kind they sell in Home Depot. I got mine at Foro.
Make sure that it is installed tipping a degree or two AWAY from the house so that the rain runs off the saddle. Ensure proper clearance with the door and brush under the door.

Update--Stone Decor is a rip off for small jobs. He may be better if you are doing a large reno but steer clear for a project such as this ....
