Outdoor Furniture?
We have just redone our backyard, and I'm looking for a metal table /chairs. I'd like to step outside the world of restoration hardware/pottery barn/crate and barrel/etc...any suggestions as to where to look?

How much are you willing to spend? Perhaps look into having a custom job done by a local welder? I'm thinking MINE Metal/Art on Grand st. in Williamsburg http://www.minemetalart.com/
I drool over her bedframes, but they are a bit pricey. But there are a lot of artistic welders and custom furniture makers in Brooklyn.

I have some metal chairs I could sell you that I got and restored (minus the cushions) and a few chairs that need restoration (that I could throw in).

taste varies. hideous would have been my word for most all of the ironwork pictured there.

Dunno what your budget is, but if I could afford it I'd go for a set of this stuff. I saw it at the Brooklyn Design show and it really stuck with me

A trip to a Long Island outdoors center will probably give you all the choices you want.

If you are looking for original Victorian cast iron benches and chairs, we have several available. You can visit our website via the Brooklyn Flea and find some listed there, though we have a pair of chairs not listed. Fred from Silver Fox

JC Penny has a line of faux cast iron traditional patio furniture that is discounted right now.

It's made of rust-resistant cast aluminum with durable powder coated finish. The furniture is lighter weight then the cast iron, but has the same kind of look. You will have to assemble it from the flat pack boxes, even the table top comes in multiple puzzle pieces.

I would highly reccomend getting cast aluminum instead of metal. Aluminum does not rust and the produt we sell has a powder coating on that is very durable. Check this website out www.outdoorfurnituresolutions.com

If you are willing to relocate to some other place, say Pennsylvania then you can try Cedar Store. They have stock of all outdoor furniture and patio furniture. They ship the furniture free of cost and also don't charge any sales tax. Also if you buy anything worth $90 or more than that, you don't have to pay anything for first 90 days.
I have many friends who bought outdoor furniture from this store and are very happy and satisfied with the quality and design of the furniture.
Try this company, their website is www.cedarstore.com
If you are still on a lookout, i would advice you to check them out once.
