Locksmith recommendations?

We need to get a locksmith to re-do all the locks on our new house (whoohoo). Its Brooklyn College/Midwood area, but any recommendations in Brooklyn would be great.
Thanks.

We used Andy at Miguel's Locksmith on 4th Avenue. (718) 596-4142. He changed all the locks in our new house and we are very happy with his work.

DON'T use All-Star Locksmith on Flatbush Ave. He'll rip you off.

I've used two locksmiths in Brooklyn, the two listed above. Miguel's was very helpful and All-Star was not. So, I'm just confirming the other two posts. Miguel's is on 4th near Bergen.

I just used Bridgeview Locksmith in Bay Ridge, but he might go to your area (which is close to where I grew up BTW). He did a great job and is such a nice, polite guy I wish I had more work for him to come back to do!

He repaired the old locks and knobs on three exterior doors and rekeyed them to be on one key. He added an interior bolt to the back door and a new Multilock to the front. He even tightened the knobs on some interior doors he saw were loose just becasue he noticed them - no charge.

I just used Miguel's based on searching around the Brownstoner forums. I definitely recommend them. They were prompt, professional, upfront about the cost and solved my problem straight away. They did try to upsell me on a new lock, but didn't hassle me when I declined.

We just had Miguel's (4th Ave and Bergen) do all common doors including gates and basement access, and one full apartment in our brownstone on 3rd St in PS, based on recommendations here, and they were great. Andy and his crew arrived exactly when they said they would, were straight shooters, and very easy to deal with. I consider it a grand well spent and will certainly use them next time. As John said, prompt and professional.

I tried Miguels after reading these recomendations. I scheduled a time for them to come by and after waiting 20 minutes at the property called them to see when they were coming. They said they they would be by in an hour. I told them no thanks. They may be good but the last thing I want to deal with is another Time Warnerish company with bad customer service with a "we will be there between 12 and 6" type attitude. Especially in a down economy when they should jump at the opportunity to take on a new job.
