was told there wasa lean on my house how do i find out what that is and such

A lean on your house? That's a bad thing, call 311 at once. They'll send an engineer out there.

I assume you mean a "lien" which to quote Websters is "a claim on the property of another as security against the payment of a just debt." Did you have any work done recently in which someone might feel that you stiffed them, or any unpaid bills with relation to the house?
