1850s Cast Iron Stoop Railing mold available
I came across this listing on eBay for a mold made from a circa 1850s cast iron stoop railing. The listing says it came from a house in Brooklyn Heights. I'm neither the seller nor the home owner, just thought I'd pass this unusual listing along in case anyone local is interested.

Interesting, but I wonder if anybody in Brooklyn would be able to fabricate given this mold. I would much rather get ready railings, though. Anybody has an idea on where to find those?

You can search through the drawings section of Architectural Ironworks:

My husband and I needed to replace sections of our railing and this is where I found the exact replica of our stoop railing "The Grove" and our front fence and gate "The Minetta" within their Landmarks Collection.
The one shown above looks like "The Carlton".

There were several recent thefts in Brooklyn of gates and fencing. I wonder if these may have been stolen? Who would want to get rid of gates such as these if they are good condition?
