Website/store to buy kitchen/bath products
We are renovating a kitchen and a few baths. Yesterday we went to Home Depot Expo in LI. We looked at numerous items...one being the Kohler shower systems (Kohler DTV interface and the BodySpray tiles). I was surprised to find that Home Depot Expo sold the DTV interfact for $820 and each BodySpray nozzel for $155 each. I came home and did a quick google search and found the DTV interfact for $700 and the BodySpray nozzel for $135! Thats a lot cheaper then HD Expo. Does anyone recommend me a website/store to purchase from? HD Expo is clearly over priced.

It's not surprising. HD and Lowes aren't discount stores, especially with big ticket items.

I find the Expos are great as display showrooms. But, when it comes to buying, I just don't see the point. They are way, way overpriced!
Try Home Park Slope Plumbing Supply (5th and Prospect Avenue) and Home and Stone on Coney Island Avenue. Home and Stone runs auctions on eBay but they also have the brick and mortar business, with a pretty decent showroom. I priced a Graff faucet at Home Expo (in Paramus) last year for $600+; Home and Stone sold me the same faucet for $493. I also bought a Rohl Farmhouse sink from them at a steeply discounted price. You should also check out Park Slope Plumbing Supply
Also, keep up with major retailers like Gracious Home, Restoration Hardware, etc. RH is currently running a 20% off sale on bath items. Yesterday, Waterworks had their annual warehouse sale where items were up to 80% off. I drove up to Connecticut to try and get in on the good deals but should have known better to have been there before the doors opened. By the time I arrived, at 11:00 a.m., most best items were already sold-- but there were still good deals to be had. I won't make that same mistake again next year!

I found an exposed shower on HudsonReed.com. When the anti-scald device seemed to malfunction, they sent a replacement part, at no charge and with no quibbling, all the way from the North of England. It was the only way we could afford a beautiful exposed shower, that's for sure, and it was a real surprise to find their customer service to be so good (we had had the shower just over a year). i would recommend having a look on their site.

Don't you know that the "SALE" at Gracious Home is a load of bs? You must go to other smaller showrooms and plumbing supply stores and BARGIN DOWN!!! The "list price" is not real....it's totally marked up. Do a lot more research and you'll see the major differences between places. Go to Chinatown even, they have great resources there and great prices. I went to Grand Central Showroom on Bond St. You just have to ask for the lowest price or a contractors discount. Don't go to Home Depot at ALL! Terrible place.

I generally ALWAYS favor going to a store rather than a website. That way, you not only get to see the items in person, not only are supporting the local community, but also have an advantage that the salesperson may make helpful suggestions.
I would also stay away from Home Depot. For my big purchases, I went to Smolka (perfect example of a place where they suggested something better and cheaper than what I originally chose) - but in general it seems that many places will automatically give you 30% off the list price.

Another vote for Park Slope Plumbing Supply on 5th and Prospect Ave. The same owner owns Park Slope Kitchen Gallery nearby. We used them and shopped at the Plumbing Supply. Good selection and prices. Longtime, privately owned, local business that's good to support over the ripoff big box chains with their horrid customer service.

Relax, 11:55. No need to shout! :) Yes, I am well aware of the ridiculous mark up at Gracious Home. Although I did refer to the 20% sale at RH, I really should have emphasized the warehouse sales -- as I did with Waterworks. There is a big, big difference between regular sales and warehouse sales. At the latter, you can usually find huge bargains on high end items -- if you're quick enough.

Try www.plumbingwarehouse.com
I found that their prices for Grohe fixtures were the best.

I've had two bad experiences at Park Slope Plumbing Supply.
Good to know they own Park Slope Kitchen Gallery - I'll be sure to avoid them too.
