ISO: Salvaged fixtures!
We are renovating on a very tight budget and wondering the best places around NYC to find old claw foot tubs/pedestal sinks/farmhouse sinks, etc. They don't have to be perfect, we can clean them up. Anybody have any tips?

There are a lot of salavage places that sell these items but they are by no means cheaper than buying new Home Depot specials.
If you want the charm of an old fixture, it generally ends up costing more when you factor in the repairs, special fixtures, etc. you will need to make to them.
The cheapest options are hunting them down on craigslist and local sales rather than professional salvage operations. But you need to have time and a truck to pick them up when they are ready.

My coop is selling off a nice old pedestal sink and some vintage radiators. Email for info.

We have two cast-iron tubs that we want to give away. One is large, the other a small one. They are both in decent shape. Call me at 917-805-5305 if you want to see them (we are in Chelsea) and arrange to pick them up.
