Is Adelphi Street & Greene Ave safe to live ?
I just finished my education and got a job in Manhattan.
I am just new to Brooklyn so I do not know much about this area.
Any comments about the area?
I went to see the apartments there in day time.
I was not sure about G subway line though.
I will commute to Manhattan.

I suggest you walk around the hood when you would be there, comfort/expectation levels can be quite different. Green and Adelphi are about a block to the C train at Lafayette.

Hey I live on Adelphi and Lafayette and I can assure you this is an excellent place to live. The commute to Manhattan is real easy...you get all the train a 4 minutes walk away @ Atlantic Terminal. Tons of great eating places and cafes on Dekalb which is 2 blocks away and FG park is right there. Also this area is very safe...I walk and bike around daily and late without any problems. Welcome to the area and enjoy.
PS: I moved here 18 months ago from Midtown 56th and Broadway....miss CP though.

It's a wonderful nabe. I live a few blocks east, in Clinton Hill, but I go to your (prospective) neck of the woods during all hours - for groceries, to bike in the park, to BAM, and for eats and drinks. You can't ask for a more vibrant, down-to-earth neighborhood. The commute to Manhattan via the C is quite painless (if you want the comfort of a local train, just take it one-stop further and board the A-Train at Hoyt-Schermerhorn). The G-train is also good if you want to explore other Brooklyn 'hoods like Williamsburg and Park Slope - it's not without its downsides, but whatever.
You won't be sorry you came to Ft.Greene. Welcome and prosper.

Sorry, that was the comfort of an EXPRESS train!

I live on Greene and Adelphi, and, as a woman, have never felt unsafe at night. Really great area.
If you're commuting to Manhattan, you won't have to deal with the G anyway. C is right there, and all the trains at Atlantic are only a short walk away.

Hello! everyone,
Thank you so much for the comments.
I appreciate it.
I was slightly afraid of walking at night because I've never been that area at night.
My fried showed me website called rottenneighbor.
It tell you about your neighbors.
However, I should not worry too much.
Anyway, I am heading to New York to sign the lease and see the lanlords tomorrow.
Thanks!

It's amazing how yuppies consider Brooklyn, "new hot -spot", but then you want to question if certain neighborhoods are safe. people have been living ther their entire lives. Things happen! Deal with it! You are afraid of black people everywhere you go , so why move to their territory?
