Please recommend an Iron Works Company??!!

Hi,
We need to have our front "cellar" door replaced with a new door that has those ventilation slots - I have called Gabriel's Iron Works numerous times, but no one ever answers... - doees anyone have a good Iron company that does these types of door replacement jobs?

I just used Metal Box on the basis of a forum recommendation to replace some bars on my window. It was an odd experience. The guy literally came in 24 hours--how often does that happen?? And then came back the next day to finish the job. He was cheap ($600 total to remove old bars and replace) amd I think the work was good. That said, it was IMPOSSIBLE to understand him on the phone. I really thought he was Chinese until he showed up and I realized he was from the Islands and wears a hearing aid. In person, we communicated just fine. Also, he has a GPS so that helped.

We are using Custom Metal Products, 718 443-2676. They came last week-end to measure and give a quote. We need a cover for the front and back and another for the roof. It's running us about $1500 for all three. Didn't price anyone else b/c they came on a referral, so not sure how they stack against others. Installation isn't for a couple of weeks, so can't fully vouch for them yet. However, they did return my calls promptly and showed up for the estimate when they saiad they would.

Iron Works by Cropsey on Utica Avenue

I used him for window bars 4 years ago and he is coming by this Friday to measure for a security storm door and window bars, install permanent flower box holders under the front windows, and bracket and weld iron stairs in the backyard from the 2nd floor for my new home.

I am recinding my recommendations for Iron works by Cropsey. He came to my house to measure last week and was rude to us. He never called back with the estimate.

I know im a couple of months late... but Gabriel's Ironworks seems to be the best iron works company so far. The quality was fantastic and prices were within my means... It is sometimes difficult to get in contact with them, because they are so busy, but if you leave a message on the answering machine, someone will get back to you. I recommend them to everybody i know.

I use Gabriel's Iron works all the time. It is sometimes difficult to get in contact with them because they are a busy co. However, if you leave a message on the answering machine, someone will get back to you. I do recommend them to everybody i know, and i had to go through a few bad experiences before finding them.
