Custom Kitchen Cabinets
Planning to renovate a kitchen. What is the average time it takes to get custom kitchen cabinets made? Thanks.

we have an order in now and it's taking (we hope) 8 weeks from the date on which the order was finalized and the deposit paid. it also took several weeks to work through various quotes and to design the layout.

It depends on the company. Anywhere from 6-10 weeks for semi custom and more like 16 + weeks for custom. Stock cabinets like what you can buy off the shelf from Home Depot or Ikea are available same day.

Lead times will vary. It depends on the cabinetmaker (how busy they are, how fast they work) and how many cabinets need to be made. Call around, you may get lucky. (non-custom cabinets can take anywhere from 1 to 16 weeks to get the order from the manufacturer to your door)
