Altantic Ave by Clinton St
I'm considering renting an apartment on Atlantic Ave by Clinton St. What are your thoughts on the plusses / minuses of that location (particularly being on Atlantic Ave itself)? Is there anything in particular to be aware of?

I'd say noise on Atlantic is your biggest concern - lots of trucks coming off the BQE right there. Other than that, great area. Depends on what your noise tolerance is, whether the apartment faces onto Atlantic, etc. Good luck!

I agree on the noise issue. Go hang out there during rush hour. At night, the cars whizz by pretty fast. Otherwise, the neighborhood has much to recommend, the Y, Sahadis, movie theatres, restaurants and proximity to the subway.

probably the smell of the key food garbage in the summer...nasty..and the rats it attracts

If your bedroom is not facing Atlantic - probably fine.

its one of my favorite areas in brooklyn in terms of convenience and livability.
