Does anyone know where to buy moving boxes in BK

We need new moving boxes. Manhattan OK, but rather buy them locally if possible. Driving no problem.

Craigs list - Totally free. Just be ready to pounce as soon as they are posted.

We accumulated tons of great moving boxes totally free over 2 weekends when we moved.

As soon as we moved - Bang. Right back up on Craigslist and gone in a day.

Thanks but we want brand new boxes.

There's a storage place on Flatbush, near Third Avenue, right next to the Army recruiting office, that sells boxes. Also, of course, UHaul on 4th Avenue (across from the Novo, I think).

Lowe's next to Pathmark

Why Brand New Boxes April? They are expensive and such a waste of perfectly good trees. I have also done the craigslist thing and the boxes are typically in very good shape and clean. If they are not, you can just take the ones you want.

Just what we need in the City, more garbage and wasted trees...

Sometimes people give away moving boxes for free.
Try wwwfreecycle.org or craigslist

In case you can't find them locally, we used uline.com. They deliver the next day and they're much cheaper than anything we could find locally, even with shipping. Their packages are especially handy--boxes, tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, etc. The only thing is you have to buy in bulk, usually 20-50 at a time.

Local moving/storage places like UHaul are outrageously priced. Uline is good, try the yellow pages (remember them) under packaging supplies.

It would be great to be able to get free used moving boxes... but with frequent reports of bed bugs, and other assorted
"creepies", who would want to take the risk of moving more than yourself into your new home! :)

lowes sells boxes

Uhaul has boxes. They will also buy back what you don't use.

Do NOT use previously used moving boxes due to bed bugs. The poster who suggested to do this is terribly incorrect.

Bedbugs? Please... Maybe if you are getting boxes from a boarding house in Bushwick. Seriously, Most people buy tons of expensive boxes, use them once and throw them out.

People do not advertise on craiglist with shitty dilapidated boxes or boxes used to hold indigent care patients clothing.

Why is everyone so wastefull? If you are really worried about bedbugs, you must also be concerned with the alarming spike in measles and meningitis. Perhaps you walk around the city wearing a respirator or surgical mask as well?

What ever happened to getting them from liquor stores and supermarkets? No bed bugs there.

I can't think of anything more wasteful than buying boxes. I have always just gotten them from liquor stores.

12:22 you are sadly misinformed. There is a bedbug epidemic in new york city. It is not limited to bushwick or indigent clothes or whatever. It is widespread. Do not use boxes used by anyone else.

If you lack the time or inclination to hunt down used boxes, the staples on 4th and 4rd sells them for an exorbitant price, or there's boxkits.com that delivers to your home
