Chair caning

Does anyone have a recommendation/estimate for chair caning? If you have had a chair repaired, how much was it per hole? I have an estimate for 2.15 a hole which makes my repair more than 200.00 a chair. YIKES!

Thanks.

Funnily enough just walked past a workshop place on 10th avenue this morning. Can vouch for them but saw a satisfied looking customer walk out with a big old bamboo throne thing. Looked messy but industrious inside. Remembered the name for future reference -
Veterans Chair Caning 442 10th Ave. between 34 and 35th St. They have a website too. www.veteranscaning.com

they can be converted into machine caning and it cost much less.

Hand caning is expensive, but it's worth it. Tri-State did four 25-yr old kitchen chairs for me a couple of years ago, and they look brand new. They do very nice work and I would use them again.
