Ready to till my yard

We are finally ready to turn our yard from post-contractor barren wasteland to a rael garden. Has anyone had a good experience renting a tiller in Brooklyn? Where did you rent it (besides Home Depot)?

Sorry, that is a "real" garden, not a "rael" garden. My bad. Still need a tiller.

Home Depot in Gowanus or Total Tool rental 166 Nostrand

A shovel would work just as well and take you less time than finding a car, getting the tiller, using it, returning it, and parking the car.

Plus it is good exercise. Do 20 minutes a day until you are done.

Recommend a garden claw, approx $20, much better for your back

Thanks everyone.

Tried HD; they have three tillers. Two don't work and they can't seem to fidn the third.

Tried a shovel. The dirt is packed really, really hard. I will be amending, but I need to turn it first.

Will look into a garden claw and thanks for the Total Tool recommendation.

Did you have any luck with Total Tool?
I've got to amend our backyard too, and so I"m looking to find a tilling solution.
