my company is gutting an apartment w/ a sink just like this, even the movable dish bottom thing. how much are thee things even worth? cause we just throw them out.

I don't think they are worth much. I like vintage, and would look for nice vintage stuff were I renovating, but this just reminds me of the sinks in the shitty apartments I lived when in college and in my 20's. I can't even look at a picture of one of these and not have the roaches and mice immediately come to mind. No thanks.

Post it on freecycle.org.

The best you can hope for is someone getting it for free and remove it so you don't pay them for that.

I have one in my basement which I'll use in my kitchen renovation. I like them! They are probably worth a couple $ to someone. \

1:11, you're probably throwing out lots of stuff that's either of value or can be used by someone. I know contractors don't take time to salvage things, but hopefully that will change one day soon as "green building" gains momentum.

I think The What is one type o' asshat but you sir are another type o' asshat altogether

I like these too. For messy work it's way better than a sink that's set into a countertop. It would make a great utility sink in the laundry area. Or if you're going to set up a potting and seeding area in your house for gardening. It would also be awesome as a second sink in a big kitchen, to be used for shelling and peeling vegetables and fruit and for washing the big pots and pans. The cast iron sinks and stoves and things can be re-coated in porcelain btw. It can't be done in the home, you have to take it somewhere.
