Cost of converting 4 family to 2 family

We are considering buying a four family brownstone but not sure about mortgage implications of buying this type of property. I would also appreciate any advice on cost of converting a 4 family to 2 family and tax implications. Thanks a lot!

Rates are higher for a 4 family and loans are more difficult to get, but it can be done. You might want to refinance when the conversion is done.

Cost of these have changed recently so for accurate numbers call a mortgage broker for cost of loan and an expediter for cost of conversion the c of o.

Taxes should be lower on a 2 family.
