Cleaning Marble Mantels

We are looking for someone to clean some of our marble mantels. I see a past reference for Alex from Sparclean - does anyone else have any recommendations for a contractor who can clean and polish our mantels?
Thanks

Alex is awesome; did 4 of our fireplaces and cleaned a bunch of random marble in the house (including a freestanding carrera sink that had so many yellow stains, I thought it was a lost cause -- came out beautifully!) I think he's got the monopoly on the business, frankly. I priced it with a couple of other companies (they were installers who moonlighted as cleaners) and were FAR more expensive.

We had a terrible experience with Alex from Sparclean after reading your recommendation here.

He gave us estimates on the jobs we wanted and then added tax at the end which ended up being significant- without telling us that he would be adding it.

Secondly, he cleaned a marble foyer for us that was still yellowed when he was done. He said he had a "special technique" to get it out and would try it. So he did and came back 6 days later to check it out- and voila! the yellowing was gone. I said, "great, let's clean it with this new technique." He told me it would be a new charge of an additional $500. My husband and I were astonished: hadn't we just paid him $700 to clean it...period?!

At the same time we had asked for an estimate to restore a fireplace surround that a flooring guy had spilled oil on. He gave us the estimate and when I went to schedule the cleaning he told me that- oh, it wouldn't include making the marble look clean- just to get the oil off.

This guy has a lot of guts. He is really a shyster and I would definitely stay away.
