Stairs to combine parlor & 1st floors

I am considering combining my parlor floor w/floor above. Will need to add an internal stair as the hall stair will still be used for tenants above. I really don't like spiral stairs - has anyone been able to successfully combine with traditional stair without losing too much space? House dimensions are 21x50, parlor ceilings are about 11'. Thank you for any ideas and/or images.

I installed a traditional stair from parlor to 2nd floor last year. It was a 3 run straight stair with 16 risers (i.e. 2 intermediate landings) in a footprint of roughly 8' x 8'. My floor to floor height was about 11'. You'll probably need 18 risers. I'll e-mail you pictures if you post your e-mail.

I've also seen it done nicely with 1 landing, with two runs, parallel to each other, parallel to the front and back of walls of the building, done in the middle or the building, or somewhat closer to the back.

I am thinking of doing this as well. What would be a ballpark figure, all told, for the cost of punching a hole in the floor/ceiling and installing the staircase?

4:27 here. Total cost was about $20,000, including steel beam and column at new opening, wood framing, stair and railing installation and finishing, patching in wood floors as well as misc electrical and drywall in the new stairwell.
