Looking for closet door ideas

Don't know much about the style or layout of your place but I'm in favor of swing doors for closets. You'll be able to open them both up and see everything. I always hated sliding doors becuase of the hardware and the half/half thing. If the area outside your closet is too narrow you could do a panel type system. I'ts slightly better than sliding doors becuase you can make the panels a lot less wide than one of the doors. But you'll need to make sure the track and hardware are quite sturdy or they'll drive you crazy. Those flimsy louvered doors are the worst. The doors and the hardware tends to be flimsy.

Maybe you could find some salvaged doors.

Single-Outswing or Bifold, these are your best options as far as operation. The former allows the most access.
As for design ,Panel doors are usually more expensive than louvered
but are more substantial and may or may not
jive with the surrounding architecture.
Or you could choose Flush doors which are
flat "slab" and have no detail.

Sliding doors always start having problems after a certain amount of time, and come off their tracks or just act up. They're also impossible for gaining access to what's inside the closet, as others are saying. You only ever get to access half the closet at a time. The louvered doors allow air into the closet which is a good thing. Closets get stuffy and damp in Summer without air circulation.
