Internet in Sunset Park
Hi, I'm moving to Sunset Park. I really hate Time-Warner and was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for alternatives in Sunset Park for internet access (and cable TV, for that matter, but I believe TW has a lock on that.)
thanks.

Its pretty easy.
Call TW.
Give them they exact address, tell them you want a hookup and they'll say yes or no.
If no they'll tell you who to call

I have Time Warner here in SP. I wish it was better. If you find another company that's better, please post the info.

We got rid of Time Warner altogether because their customer service was so crappy. We switched to Verizon DSL and do not notice any difference in internet speeds (admittedly we are not hosting servers or anything at home, just using for usual interent surfing).

I think I may be able to get Earthlink internet for $29.99/mo. no contract. Anyone use Earthlink?

I'm in SP. Use Covad for DSL $24.95/mnth 1yr contract, TW for cable.

3:19, thanks for the Covad tip, however when I go to their site, I don't see any service for less than $65 a month...advice?

After entering your info hit the "show all services" button. Look for TeleSurfer Plus.

I've used Earthlink DSL since 2001 or so. No real problems, except that when there's a problem with the phone line (provided by Verizon) I have to call Earthlink, who calls Covad, who, in turn, contacts Verizon. This can be a little slow. Fortunately, it only happens about once a year and Earthlink provides dial-up service as a slow, but adequate, back up.
