my friends are about to gut their new place and have some parlour doors, pocket doors and regular doors they would like to sell.

Your friends are gutting (which usually means removing the mouldings, mantles, and plaster, right down to the studs) a Park Slope house that has pocket doors in it and you post their cell number on a preservation blog?

Go easy. I think I saw Rebecca's doors. The house is quite narrow, so it makes sense to remove the hallway wall. She's selling the doors and trim because she wants someone to be able to use them. Much of the other detail in the house has been lost over time. I thought she was doing the right thing by asking if anyone wanted to buy. I went to take a look because my equisitely trimmed parlor door opening was filled with some heavy duty steel doors and frame in the 1980's. Unfortunately her doors were too short.
