deck for courtyard
our coop has a big concrete courtyard that I would like to fill in with Trex decking. I was planning on just laying down some strips of the Trex as the undercarriage. But to avoid having the deck rise up too high and get interfere with door swings, etc.. I am thinking of just laying the undercarriage strips flat-side down. This would mean there would be about an inch of space under the deck. Is this okay in terms of ventilation?

I would recommend going with something more along the lines of concrete pavers or tinting the exsiting concrete. That way you eliminate the risk of having things under a deck that are hard to access. On my roof deck friends have lost earrings and coins and there are all manner of leaves and yard debris underneath.
I'd heard a mineral fiber application was recommended as an inexpensive and durable roof deck material. Does anyone know of specific products?
