Anyone go to the "Vue" Open House This Weekend?

Hey Brownstoners - I went to the "Vue" Open House this weekend and aside from the shockingly high price tag, I found them to be decent in size and quality - especially on the upper floors with an amazing view.

Just wondering if anyone else had an opionion especially since I might actually consider an offer, but am wondering if maybe prices will drop a bit.

Thanks!

How is MY light and air up there? Asking a lot you say? Shouldn't pay anymore than 25¢ on the dollar for stolen property.

OK - I admit I am a little confused by both comments. Did either of you actually see it? And also why are you calling it "Stolen Property" 9:04?

Am I missing something here?

apparently the vue was not well-received by the local community.

Oh, thanks Z. I did not realize this was so controvesial. I live right down the block and had no idea of the resistance.

Either way, I still like the building and think it will end up being better, not worse, for the neighborhood whether I buy there or not.

After 3 months of looking at real estate in Brooklyn (and 32 apartments later), my husband and I bought an apartment in The Vue (162 16th Street). I completely respect the views and frustration of the surrounding residents, however, I hope they direct it at the right people and understand how hard it is for young professionals who wants to stay in Brooklyn to find decent, well-maintained, updated and affordable apartments (and believe me, we looked). The VUE did a really good job with the quality - from the flooring to the sound proofing to the appliances. And, the price is very competitive for the neighborhood.
