Vaguely apartment seeking
Hopefully this constitutes an appropriate use of the forum... I'm thinking about abandoning North Brooklyn come March 1 and figured I'd see if anybody a little further south had a spare apartment. 1BRs, on the cheap side (

Er, that got cut off, the end should read "<= 1300, probably hopeless." Ha.

Some North Park Slope studios have been listed on craigslist for 1300 lately.
I highly recommend the area...close to the 2/3 and Q Trains and great shops and restaurants, not to mention park access.
I love it here.

try bensonhurst safe and within your budget. beats living in a hood for that much.

Windsor Terrace is now more than 1300. Lots of kids moving to Sunset Park, you could look there. Also they're moving to PLG. I think you can still get a PLG apartment for 1300 which is right by the park only 1 stop to Park Slope on the B/Q.

I don't have an apartment available at this time but I'm with the above poster. Sunset Park is a good choice and could be the next area to get noticed, since other areas are pulling higher rents.

sunset park is still more expensive than bensonhurst and is much sketcher and has less amenities.

True, but Bensonhurst would be a nightmarish commute -- I work way uptown. I'd just move to Harlem but I like BK too much.

uptown your screwed. lol if midtown or something like that would be fine. got express trains and buses.

hmm try kengsington about the same price as sunset park but much nicer and if you don't mind the f train its faster sometimes too.
