That OTHER Brownstoner
The Brownstone Revival Coalition's calendar, which I received today, says that there publication, the "Brownstoner" is no longer published in printed form, but is available on-line at
brownstonerevival.com
I checked and their archive doesn't seem to be working yet, but the URL might be worth bookmarking for future reference.\
The "Brownstoner" was published from the late '60s until fairly recently and past issues give an interesting perspective on the brownstone "revival", which started long before I moved to Brooklyn.

I hate to comment on my own post, but Ijust discovered that if you click on "seminar info signup" on the BRC website and register you can get PDF versions of some issues of the Brownstoner going back (with lots of gaps) to Oct. 1982.

Funny you should bring that up, Bob-- we just found last week a 1974 issue of "The Brownstoner" in the scanty file left for us by our sellers in Clinton Hill. The stories back then read *exactly* like the stories of today, including questions from rich gentrifiers talking about how to jettison low-paying tenants, and the constant drumbeat about whether NYC generally had lost its soul and grit and was becoming homogeneous, suburban, and stale. Nowhere has it ever been truer that the more things change.... you know.

Back issues available for anyone at NYPL branch on 5th Avenue (eastside of 5th at 40th Street?, opposite main branch). Reference only.
