painting vinyl tile floors

Does anyone know how or if I can apply paint or something to give a cleaner look to vinyl tile floors? Stripping is very expensive. Any suggestions for something that won't ware away?

Your question tells me you want a fast cheap fix. I can understand that. I think painting over vinyl is going to look bad in about a year. Floors take such a beating and paint on such a slick surface is going to scratch. If you don't want to take time to clean your flooring, I think your best bet is to pull it up and get something new.

or, if you want a really quick cheap fix and the vinyl tile is not coming up already, put roll vinyl on top of it. it will look and wear better than paint (but still like roll vinyl).

if you have vinyl tile,
you can put new vinyl tiles over the old ones.
Painting over vinyl tiles is a little weird!

Seen old tiles (not sure if they were vinyl or linoleum) painted a dark color, and then flecked with other colors in little dots and arcs and a few squiggles - looked like an old fashioned linoleum pattern. With some sort of clear sealant applied on top, it lasted for a few decades, looking great.
