Before you get a company in at a big expense, perhaps you can get some help from a handyman or local electrician. I had the same problem. My intercom would work, then not the next day, etc. I had an electrician come to the house for something else. I told him about this. He took off the buttons of the outside panel and scraped them with his screwdriver and put it back together free of charge. It took him five minutes. It has worked fine since them. Sometimes the inside of the buttons can erode from exposure to rain and cold and cause the connection to fail. (my problem also occurred during winter). Good luck.

OP here:
when i first bought the building, my tenants upstairs said that it would work off and on, then they would just here muffled noise from time to time. While i was doing construction downstairs, it seems like the workmen damaged something with the wires in my duplex. At this moment, the entire system doesnt respond
