How much for Demo ?
Anyone get a complete interior demo (leaving only joists and studs) recently? How big was your house and how much did you pay? Just trying to get a ballpark figure before getting bids on a job.

250k/floor - 18 X 54. But could easily have gone for half the price if we hadn't done so much reconfiguration.

8:47--that is ridiculous and makes absolutely no sense. How did just a demo cost you $250K per floor?? Are you serious???? DEMO, not reno.

I think 8:47 misunderstood the question. I think demo is more like $10-$20k per floor.

Initial demo figure 10-15k, all depending on size (2.5 - 4 floors)...then an additional 5k to cover throughout and the end debris. I've gut reno'd 20+ townhouses and this is my batting average

4:48 sounds right on the money.
My sister's 5 floor, 25'x45' wide brownstone was demo'd for 25K.

Thanks 4:48 Any recommendations on demo companies or did you do the work in house?

4:48 here..i outsource this portion of work; however I have a high tolerance for chaos, uncertainty and general nutiness. So, my bench is 4-5 deep, but there is only one company I'd recommend to friends and family. This company is professional, easy to do business with, and reasonably priced. When they give their word they stand behind it. Last thing, some companies are good for overall removal and carting, others just good for carting, and some fall somewhere in between (good at heavy demo, but not gentle to rest of the home, etc). Hectors team is good all around and will respect your home.
