drapery track continued
Or where can I get something like the ceiling tracks they use in hospitals to pull a curtain for privacy?
Comments
I recently purchased a ceiling mounted curtain track (very similar to a hospital curtain track) from the Home Depot in Chelsea.

Haven't you heard of this thing called Google? If you google "Ceiling mounted curtain track" wait until you see what miraculous shows up...a whole bunch of links to places you can order a ceiling mounted curtain track.
It's a novel thing indeed.

Ikea has something like that.

Hospital curtain tracks are great. You can get them any size.
If you get one try to get a used one . It is unbelievably cheap and always in good condition.
I want to get one for my bathroom ceiling.
Try a used medical supply shop.
Someone told me you can get them on canal street in manhattan.

Gracious home has them. They can be mounted on ceiling or in sheetrock of ceiling. You have to get the hooks also.

We put curtains on our closets this way, bought the hardware (track and hooks) here:

Shipping is a little pricey because the tracks come in long pieces, but it's still pretty cheap overall. Very easy to install (just need a saw to cut the tracks down to size). To put the hooks in your curtain, go to a fabric/sewing supply store and ask for something called "curtain tape"--basically long fabric strips with slots for the hooks. Then you have to sew those onto the top of your curtains (we had a tailor do it).
P.S. We bought the Ikea system first, but couldn't make sense of it. Seemed like there were pieces missing. Total waste of money.
