Cost of steel or cast iron fencing?
What is general cost per linear foot for either steel or cast iron fencing? I would also be installing one walkway gate and a driveway gate.
I understand that fences come in many styles and sizes, I was considering 3.5 ft high and relatively simple design.

I think you'll find that most fencing is wrought iron.

unless youre in working class areas with those stainless steel fences.

If your looking for a historic hand forged solid iron fence, I used fredrick jones ironworks.I had a very hard time locating one for my heritage home because I required it for a pool enclosure. They have many models, and cost depended on the system selected. I had a 72" high, very ornate style, and based on 300lnft with 2 gates I paid 80.00 lnft for the material. This was a you can see the product on youtube search fredrick jones ironworks they asked if they could use my pictures. I am sure a less ornamental fence and 42" would be a cost savings.
