reclaimed wood anyone?
I pulled up an old kitchen on my 3rd floor and am missing about 10ft X 1FT of 4.5 inch wide original pine wood flooring. It's months past the salvage weekend in Clinton Hill. Any ideas where I can find such wood. Or something close?

You can match (old) pine with (new) hickory.

I'm not the OP but I have a related question.
We have old, wideplank (uneven, but typically 8-10") pine. We finished the old pine with a clear finish plus a coat of poly. It came out sort of amber with some red, brown, yellow and black. I've hear people call this pumpkin pine, but I think more in the range of several grades of maple syrup.
There are a few places -- the lip of a stair and the like, where the stair guy and/or contractor, put new oak adjoining the old pine. It looks odd. I have begun experimenting with finishes to try to match, to no avail. Colonial Maple is too orange and everythign else is either too light, too brown or too red. Any suggestions on a stain color that might work?

Maybe shellac would work.
