Need a licensed NYS architect for simple job
I'm looking for a competent, reasonably priced architect who will do a simple job for us -- drawing plans for one floor (including a kitchen and bathroom), plus a deck and a new wall that will divide the house into two apartments, and filing those plans with the city. We do NOT want someone who charges a percentage of the construction cost, just someone who will charge a reasonable price by the hour or for the total project. Has anyone out there had a good experience with a local licensed architect who would do that?

To rephrase your request:
You want an architect to do Schematic Design and filing drawings only. All construction coordination, finish selection and construction oversight will be done by you and there will be no Construction Administration required by the architect. What is your contact information? I happen to know a few architects who will do this.
BTW, this isn't really a simple job. This is a change of CO as you are changing the number of dwelling units.

use any chinese architect,they charge about 2k per floor per job.

i'm chinese. in the ethnic chinese areas architects are very reasonably priced. if i can find the last one i used. he only charge me 1k per floor per job. but generally they charge about 2k per floor. there isn't anything degrading about that.
