ISO Someone to fix/pour cement in our basement
We were thinking we could do this ourselves, but are running out of time. Has anyone had a company come and pour a cement floor in their basement? We have a thin slab there now but it is missing areas (some dirt showing) and is generally messed up. Want to get it done this week. Thanks!

First of all, don't pour a new slab over an old one. Take up the old slab, put down a vapor barrier, and then pour a proper reinforced concrete slab -- 4-6 inches thick. Secondly, you are not going to get this done this week. Nobody reputable is that available. Sorry.

buscarello & sons removed our old cellar floor and installed a vapor barrier, drain, and new slab. they did a good job. i don't have their contact info handy but you can look it up online. keep in mind that if you install the vapor barrier & drainage (which i recommend) you will also need a plumber involved.
also, 7:06 is right that there is no way you are getting it done this week. it's a lot of work. the end of the month may be a more reasonable deadline.

How much would a job like this cost, done properly?

You can't get anything done properly in this town. Expect to pay a few thousand to excavate the old floor and another 5 or 6 thousand to pour the new floor.
