ISO Innovative Fridge and Stove Ideas For Small Kitchen?

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has successfully renovated a small kitchen. Chief amongst my curiosities:

--do there exist decent-sized refrigerators (with freezer) that can be placed under a counter?

--do there exist small ovens that are wider than they are deep?

Any ideas would be welcomed; I am trying to create more (or really, SOME) counter space..

It's pricey stuff, but Sub Zero and others make under-counter fridges. Also those fabulous fridge drawers, which rock.

On the oven question, I would look into those (again, pricey) small numbers by Gaggenau, Poggenpohl, etc.

Don't know of anybody inexpensive that does this, although they might exist.

We got a below counter fridge at Drimmers. It was more expensive than the regular size, but it worked so much better for the layout of a kitchen in a small apartment. The freezer is tiny and tends to frost a lot.

Yeah, many of the under counter freezers are commercial and not self defrosting. just a hiccup to be aware of ahead of time.

Is there a way to put the fridge (a regular one not under counter) in a recessed area in a hallway or dining area outside the kitchen? I saw a NYC kitchen on a listing that had a fridge around a corner like that.

Take a look at IKEA - website or store. They have apartment sized kitchens with private label appliances some of which are small.
