Expecting mother gifts?

Does anyone have a suggestion of where I can buy a gift for an expecting mother in Brooklyn? (Not looking for something for the baby but rather for the mom.)

Guess somebody read the times article about the 'push present'.
yuck.

Great idea!! Gift for the expectant mom. Be creative, make a gift basket of things she may like. Favorite scent, healthy snacks, spa gift certificate for after the baby comes. Targets, Bath & Body, Check spafinders.com for spa gift certificates and locations in Bklyn.

Their is a place called Bump in Park Slope which sells maternity clothes. Never been in but looks stylish.

How about something that connects to her interests and background and reminds her she's still an individual person with her own identity. Like art supplies for an artist, or beautiful beads if she's into jewelry making. Or a subscription to a magazine related to her interests. Or you could give something romantic for her and her spouse/S.O., like a gift certificate to a nearby restaurant and include a coupon offering your babysitting services for an evening.

Give the gift of small-batch bourbon. Knob Creek is nice.

A gift certificate for a massage--there has got to be some sort of day spa or similar in Brooklyn, no?

I know I'm going to sound crabby here, but what does this have to do with real estate? There are lots more appropriate sites to post this question (e.g. Brooklynian.com).

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I was hoping for a suggestion of a local/independent store that sold gifts/clothes for expectant mothers but perhaps there are none in Brooklyn.

Johnife: It has nothing to do with real estate just as many of the questions on this site. Its a retail related question pertaining to Brooklyn and it categorized as "retail". The sites charter is "Brooklyn inside and out" and there are many other posts about restaurants, stores, quality of life, etc. If you only want to read about real estate, then skip the posts with other tags.

I totally agree with Johnife that there are more appropriate sites to post your questions about shopping.

Wow, the complainers really need to find themselves a more fulfilling life. I can't imagine being so offended by this post to actually waste time writing the above post. GET A LIFE!!! The OP is asking about RETAIL in Brooklyn, a topic often covered on this blog.

Exactly, 2:25. This thread wastes nobody's time if they just didn't read it. Idiots.

Mrs. Limestone, the best gifts are creative ones like people suggested. Because part of the gift is merely that you put thought into it. Pre-packaged gifts specifically marketed to certain categories like expectant mothers are often really cheesy, IMO.

who has more of a life...someone that complains or someone that complains about complainers?

Posted by: guest at December 29, 2007 3:34 PM

3:34 the one who has the least life of all is the one who complains about those who complain about the complainers. Again, why did you even make the effort to come back a 2nd time here? Weird.

Tea Lounge gift card.

Definitely spa treatments. D'mai (on 5th Ave) is great. Providence (on Atlantic) does a nice job too, but the space is less polished. When you can't reach your toes, it's wonderful to get a massage and a luxury pedicure!
