Rent stabalized building owners
Are any rent stabilized building owners on this forum? I’m considering buying a rent stabilized building and have a few novice questions about ownership.

Yes, I am own a six unit rent stabilized building. If you have questions, you should check out the NYC Dept. of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the the State Dept. of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR) websites. Also the Rent Sabilization Association (rsanyc.net) has info for landlords. Each of these have solid info that you can trust.

I'm an owner & manager of 100 plus rent stabilized units in Bklyn. This is not a business for the thin-skinned or faint of heart. Research the bulindg for violations on the HPD site mentioned by 12:14. This will give you an idea of any maintenance issues the seller has not told you about or alert you to problem tenants. Your tenants can make or break you so the more you know about them before buying the better.
Post any questions you have & I'll answer them.
