Radiator covers
I need 5 radiator covers. Any ideas on where I could buy them salvaged? Looking to keep costs down but have something with an older look. Thanks!

try build it green (bignyc.org). they've got tons of stuff. it will be hit or miss on the radiator covers, though.

I just took a quick look on Craigs List and there's a listing in Astoria for some nice looking covers at what doesn't seem like a bad price. However, I have at least a dozen of the not-so-fancy, metal box kind of various sizes that you can have if you just come pick them up. I personally don't like them-- not in character of the old house-- but this is an open invitation to anyone interested. Give me your dimensions if you're interested. If I've got one (or more)the size you need, you are welcome to it.

Mike Z:
Thanks for checking Craigs List. I saw the Astoria covers and may go check them out. The price is good. We need the covers in the short-term to protect our toddler from burning herself. So the way they look isn't so important. Please call me to discuss. Thanks! Liz (lizpic) 718/216-8649

I found a place and I swear by them! They make beautiful covers that are just lovely to look at. They are located in Canada but the shipping is the same price anywhere in the US or Canada - check them out - Fichman Furniture and Radiator Covers ... www.fichman.com. They make them custom sizes, and totally customizable - and they ship in 4 days - awesome!
