Public Gardens & Future Development
What's the deal with public gardens, for example the one on Union Street (between 4th & 5th Ave) in Park Slope? Can they ever be sold and built on?

I might put in an offer on an apartment that has a deck overlooking the public garden next door. I'd like to know the answer to whether that public garden can ever be bought up and developed.

Unless it is a city park, anything can happen in the future. It it is owned by one of the larger public garden orgs there is more protection, but nothing is certain.

This lot is owned by the City Parks Department--can it ever be sold and developed? I googled the issue but can't find any info.
